Hiring: Floral Events Manager

Lunaria Gardens, an urban flower farm and design studio, is seeking an Events Manager. This position will be partly remote, and also require duties at Philadelphia area venues and our farm-studio in West Philly.

Job type/ compensation: Part time, $20/ hour. Combination remote and onsite. Approximately 5-15 hours per week summer + winter, 15-35 hours per week fall + spring. 

Position available: mid-September 2021 (interviews begin early September)

Location/ season: During our main event seasons of fall and spring, events manager will be required to manage production at our West Philadelphia farm-studio, and set up weekend events at various venues throughout metro area. Many Saturdays and sometimes Sundays during these seasons will be required, with Mondays off.

However, between events, many of the required duties can be performed remotely. This allows for a lighter, flexible schedule, especially during summer and winter. Our commitments are very predictable, so the position is very easy to plan around.


Essential duties:

▪ Client communications: fielding inquiries, consultations, drafting sales quotes, email correspondence, venue + vendor relationships

▪ Lead event setups: Directing team, managing timelines, designing floral installations, gracefully navigating any possible changes or conflicts that arise

▪ Production management: working with general manger to develop production timelines, staffing schedules, developing floral recipes, delegating freelancers + interns, creating packing + breakdown checklists, day-of schedules

▪ Sales: maintaining Pinterest boards, developing custom mood boards for larger events

Additional duties:

▪ Marketing: photo documentation, assisting with social media, Google listings, SEO, referrals

▪ Website: developing online portfolio, interface for a la carte orders

▪ Inventory management: overseeing rental inventory, organization, and sourcing

▪ Financial tracking, sales reports

▪ Farm assistance: working with general manager to develop crop plans, harvesting for events, foraging, sourcing from other area farms

Requirements:

▪ Must be available to work many weekends, especially Saturdays in fall and spring. 

▪ Professional communicator, excellent email poise, customer service skills

▪ Grace under pressure, good at navigating interpersonal and logistic issues in various environments

▪ Organized, able to accomplish projects with little supervision

▪ Experience with event floral production, seasonal flowers, or design a plus, but we will train the right person.

▪ Valid drivers license. Vehicle very helpful, but not required

▪ COVID vaccinated
