Position Description:
Our internship program is designed to be a hands-on, worktrade equivalent of a course in sustainable urban flower farming. Past alumni have gone on to work as farm managers, event floral designers, and native landscape stewards. We will discuss individual areas of interest, but some of this season’s projects include:

▪ Planting: seeds, plugs, perennials, tubers

▪ Field work: weeding, mulching, bed prep

▪ Harvesting, processing, drying flowers

▪ Seedkeeping

▪ Light-duty construction, inventory organization

▪ Wedding, holiday, + event floral design

▪ Photography + social media

Requirements:
No experience necessary. We require a desire to learn, solid work ethic, consistent time commitment, and positive attitude. For the 2023 season, the internship will involve less floral/ event design. Please contact for floral design-specific instruction.

About Lunaria Gardens + Kristen Jas Vietty:
Lunaria Gardens, established 2011 by Kristen Jas Vietty, is an urban flower farm and design studio, with a base of operations at Pentridge Station in West Philadelphia. We primarily grow wholesale flowers for local florists and grocery sales. We also occasionally offer event florals, specialty plants, workshops, and community events. I’ve personally found a lot of value in my past internships with various organizations, and in recent years, have been committed to passing along some of the knowledge I’ve been fortunate to acquire.
