Cream, Blush, and Burgundy November Wedding at Front + Palmer, Philadelphia

Burgundy velvet: classic, rich, autumnal, dramatic. Liza and Nick knew this was his jacket. Everything else would fall into place.

For the florals, Liza was envisioning earthy tones of cream, blush, burgundy, browns, greens, and arrangements with an organic, unstructured feel. For her bouquet, we included Cafe Au Lait and burgundy dahlias, apricot lisianthus, burgundy and Coral Fountain amaranth, terra cotta and champagne celosia, white gomphrena, and eucalyptus from Shepard’s Farm, cream foxglove from Jig-Bee, and foraged autumn foliage like ninebark and Parrotia.

The Victorian era whiskey distillery-turned-hotel Wm. Mulherin Son’s brought the vintage vibe to the getting-ready and first look. Liza and Nick then walked around Philadelphia’s hip riverside Fishtown-Kensington neighborhood with the Lovesick Inc. photography team to get some shots in the afternoon light.

The ceremony and reception were held at Feast Your Eyes Catering’s Front + Palmer venue, and the sleek, modern lines of the former factory needed some softening. To enliven the ceremony area, we created a backdrop of foraged clematis vines, tied back the curtains with floral swags, and scattered pillar candles and lanterns around the altar. The long farmhouse tables were dressed with runners of foliage, florals, and brass candlesticks and tapers. Half of the round tables got low centerpieces in antique gold compotes, featuring hydrangea, fragrant basil, seed pods, foxglove, heirloom chrysanthemums, castor bean foliage, celosia, stock, dahlias, and zinnias. The rest displayed tall glass vases filled with osage orange fruits, textural branches, broom corn sorghum, and burgundy autumn foliage. The cocktail tables were dressed with potted scented geranium plants in brass vessels.
